The brief

Following the acquisition of Thornton’s into the Ferrero brand, Ferrero required additional resource and capability (with a fresh, external viewpoint) to analyse the market opportunities for their new Toffee and Fudge proposition.

OUR ROLE

We reviewed the market and consumer opportunity, utilising a recent U&A study to develop recommendations on how (and where) to unlock profitable growth in a highly competitive and saturated market place.

We achieved this by defining the target audience and providing tactical recommendations for the business to bring to life – in production, staff training etc.

We collaborated with the Insights team to build commercial assumptions to size each of the identified opportunities.

Upskill – we shared analysis techniques with the marketing team.

Variety of approaches – during the acquisition, the potential opportunities had been identified but not robustly analysed. We tailored our process to ensure work was not duplicated or lost – delivering time and cost efficiency.

Bring plans to life – although the requirement was not to implement executional tactics, we helped tell the story to Board in a way that they could envisage the growth opportunity.
